A Time to Look
Saturday 10 February – Sunday 12 May 2024
Following-on from the successful 2023 exhibition, I was one of over 170 artists from across North Yorkshire revisiting the “Inspired by… gallery” to showcase our diverse talents and celebrate the vitality of the region’s artistic community.
From intricate metalwork to dramatic landscape portrayals – all manner of artistic mediums were on display. Those taking part were also involved in the popular North Yorkshire Summer Open Studios annual event spanning the first two weekends in June 2024.
Visitors had the chance to vote for their favourite 2D and 3D artists as part of our ‘Time to Look’ initiative, where viewers were encouraged to spend more than 10 seconds to view each piece – studies show the average was 8 seconds!
The winner of each category received £200 towards art materials or for furthering their practice. Voting closed 24 April 2024. Winners announced on 29 April 2024 via social media.

Summer Open Studios 2024
1-2 & 8-9 June 2024 (10am – 5pm)
North Yorkshire Open Studios is an annual event enabling artists and makers to open their studios, meet, promote, and sell their work direct to the public over the first two weekends in June. As North Yorkshire is such a large county, NYOS is split into three areas – Dales, Central, and Moors & Coast. I am based in the Dales area will be showing my linoprint and drypoint artwork.
Winter Open Studios
2nd/3rd November 2024 – 10am until 4pm
2024 saw the the return of Winter Open Studios on the first weekend in November. This was a great opportunity to find those unique gifts or drop a hint to a loved one.

Parallel Printmakers’ Virtual Exhibition
The Parallel Printmakers Collective, established by Deb Wing (www.debwing.com), hosted its first Parallel Printmakers’ Virtual Exhibition that ran from 1st September to 31st October 2023. I co-curated fifteen printmakers’ artwork and exhibited too.
Skipton Town Hall & NYOS Exhibition
I was one of thirty NYOS artists that were chosen to exhibit at Skipton Town Hall from 1st July to 30th September 2023.
North Yorkshire Open Studios – Winter
I took part in the NYOS Winter Open Studios over the first weekend in December 2023.
The Gargrave Annual Art Show
The 51st Gargrave Annual Art exhibition was held in the Village Hall from 6th to 9th July.
Island for Giving Fundraising Exhibition
I gifted five drypoint images of Hebridean lighthouses to the Island for Giving fundraising exhibition in June 2023.
From Moors, Coast, Dale and Beyond
This three-month exhibition ran from 11th February to 21st May 2023 and included artwork from all the artists involved in North Yorkshire Open Studios 2023 event.

Grand Opening of the Craven Arts House plus the Christmas Exhibition
Craven Arts will be hosting the Grand Opening of the Craven Arts House plus the Christmas Exhibition from 8th to 11th December, 10am to 4pm. The address is Craven Arts House, 55 Otley Street, Skipton, North Yorkshire BD23 3RB
Craven Arts Takeover
Brilliant local arts collective, Craven Arts, take over The Folly in this exhibition inspired by its past, present and future.
Twenty-one artists will be showing their work in a range of styles and media, making this a must-see for summer!
I have submitted three drypoint and four linocut prints, all relating to the Folly itself and the various motifs that can be found in the ground-floor rooms. Details are available on The Folly’s website (https://thefolly.org.uk/event/craven-arts-takeover/).

Summer Exhibition 2022
Following two successful joint exhibitions, Nicole Dickinson and Howard Gardiner have decided to exhibit together yet again and invite their respective partners (Carol Gardiner and me) to join them. The exhibition will take place over the weekend of 9th & 120th July 2022 at the Ilkley Arts Studio, Cottage nbr. 4, adjacent to the Manor House in the centre of Ilkley. Our exhibition will run during the weekend of the 9th and 10th July 2022. This promises to be a great show with paintings, ceramics and printmaking.
Craven Arts – Annual Christmas Exhibition 2021
It had to happen! My first exhibition along with members of Craven Arts in the period leading up to Christmas, 2021. The event was held Craven Arts Creative Hub, Caroline Square, Skipton during November and December. I was pleased to have sold one print and several greetings cards!
